Hedgehog mushroom

The Hedgehog mushroom is a specie of the Family Hydnaceae. It can be found in coniferous or deciduous woordlands. The orange-, yellow- or tan-colored cap is up to 20 cm wide and generally somewhat irregular in shape. The underside is covered with small white spines remiscent of those of a hedgehog. The stem is either white or the same color as the cap. The Hedgehog mushroom is edible and has a sweet, nutty taste and a crunchy texture.
