Fig

A fig is the fruit of the ficus tree. It is the oldest known fruit, it is said figs grew 2000 years ago in the Middle East. Figs taste rather dry and sweet. Their skin is green-yellowish or blue-violet, the flesh is pink to dark red.

Figs are mostly eaten raw or preserved. You can find them in marmelade also.
