Bimi

Bimi

Bimi or Broccolini is a green vegetable resembling brocolli. Although often mistakenly identified as young broccoli, it is actually a natural hybrid of the cabbage family, a cross between brocolli and Chinese Kale. It was developed by the Sakata Seed Company of Yokohama, Japan. It is generally agreed that broccolini has a sweeter flavor than broccoli. It possesses abundant fleshy flower heads, usually green in colour, arranged in a tree-like fashion on branches sprouting from a thick, edible stalk. The large mass of flower heads is surrounded by leaves. It is entirely edible.
