Cantaloup Melon

Cantaloupe Melon refers to two varieties of muskmelon, which is a species in the family of the melons and squashes. Cantaloupes are typically 15–25 cm in diameter and are somewhat oblong, though not as oblong as watermelons. Like all melons, cantaloupes grow best in sandy, well-aerated, well-watered soil that is free of encroaching weeds. The yellow rind is lightly netted, the fruit is extremely juicy-sweet, spicy, and the flesh is orange. The average weight is approx. 1kg. The many flat seeds in the interior are inedible.
