Baby Pineapple

Baby Pineapple

The baby pineapple is a rather small, cone shaped tropical fruit which is built up from 100 or more small fruits (fruitlets), which are the bumps on the outside. The color, depending on the kind of pineapple, can be greenish yellow to orange yellow. The pulp is light to dark yellow within the hard shell of the pineapple. The taste of the juicy pulp is, when ripe, sweet-sour and aromatic.

The pineapple is originally from Brazil, but is also cultivated in other countries such as Ghana, Costa Rica, Kenia, Ecuador and Thailand to name a few. There are several varieties of the pineapple on the market and is commonly used in desserts and other types of fruit dishes, or served on its own.
